A couple of months back I made the decision to start providing daycare from my home. It's been very interesting so far. I'm easing into it very slowly so that my kids can get used to it and so that I don't end up a crazy person. :) So far I've got one little guy who comes before and after school and I just finished doing ten days of daycare for the neighbors kiddies.

It's been great for my kids because it gives them playmates their own age. Here's my little guy and the neighbor boy deep in thought while putting together a Wiggles puzzles. Intense stuff!

This job is perfect for me. I can be home for my kids all day while bringing in an income. I'd much rather be at home than in an office cubicle, under florescent lights, staring at a computer screen all day. The thought of going back to that makes me feel sick. Been there, done that! The early mornings running around trying to get kids dressed, fed and out the door to daycare. Then the long drive in traffic to a job that isn't particularly thrilling. At the end of the day, I was so exhausted I could barely enjoy the few short hours I got to spend with my kids before it was time to put them to bed. No thank you!

My goal is to have 3 full time spots filled within the next month or two. I could have up to 8 kids if I really wanted to, but I don't think I'm quite ready for that!

Once my kiddies are all in school- which is another 2-3 years down the road, I'm sure I'll re-enter the world of working mothers. For now I'm going to enjoy being a stay at home mom as much as I can. What other job allows you to work in your pajamas, color, do play doh, dance around to The Wiggles and be silly all day?
