Fresh Air Ponderings

I pried the childrens glazed eyeballs from the television today and took them outside to play. I was sick of doing housework..sick of everything really... and needed to clear my cobwebbed brain. It was quite evident we could all use some fresh air.

The cat decided to joined us as well. Here he is showing us the spot in the tree he climbs into when big dogs chase him through the yard.  ;)
The yard was full of deer tracks - and of course lots of deer poop too.
. Back in the garden area there were dips in the snow where it looked like the deer had been sleeping. It would be the perfect spot to sleep - cozy and quiet. I'm considering setting up camp there myself actually. ;)

It was pretty cold outside, but there wasn't much wind so we ended up staying out there for quite awhile. We wandered into the creepy storage shed/garage looking for little plastic snow shovels.

We found one! :)
I discovered a spot back in the corner of the garage where a wandering vine had found its way through a broken window. The way the light was hitting everything was so pretty.

There's beauty everywhere you look. Even in creepy, dark garages.

I had fun snapping photos, but soon the kids started to grow tired. The snow was pretty deep for their short little legs (mine too) and I had been dragging them all over the place.

I receive daily quotes from http://www.tut.com/ in my email every morning. This is the one I got today:

Whenever something doesn't work out the way you thought it would, Lori, instead of thinking that something went wrong, see it as something that went unexpectedly well, but for reasons that are not yet apparent. Everything plays to your favor.

That's so true isn't it? Often I find when I'm stubbornly trying to steer my life in a certain direction, I always drive myself right into a big old ditch. However, if I take my hands off the wheel, I always arrive at the desired destination. ;)

Here's to driving dangerously.
