Sick kids and smoothies..

We're slowly getting over the whole flu ordeal over here and it seems to have morphed into a cough & cold. I somehow managed to escape the entire thing - or maybe I just didn't get it quite as bad as the kids. I avoided driving the porcelain bus which is the important thing. :)  Also, when you're a mom and you ARE sick, sometimes you don't even realize it until after it's passed. When women get sick, they just keep going. Who else would look after the sick children..and cats...?

The cat was having such an intense nap that his tongue was sticking out.  I'm pretty sure he was faking having the flu.
I'm on day 10 of my healthy eating and exercise plan. I've exercised every day except for 2. I've lost 3 pounds in that time and I'm feeling awesome. I spent some time trying on pants that were snug on me last summer and am pleased to report they are now loose. It's so nice to finally be on my way to losing those last few pounds that have been hanging on since my last pregnancy. By my 35th birthday (in 3 months) I should be down to my pre-baby weight.  *grins*

I'm finally happy and doing all of the things that I've been wanting to do for years and it feels pretty amazing.

A yummy snack I've been having in the afternoons is a simple fruit smoothie. I take frozen fruit - mango, strawberries and raspberries and throw about a cup of them in the blender. Then I add a 1/4 cup of vanilla yogurt and a 1/4 cup of soy milk and blend it all up. Delicious, refreshing and filling. :)

My sweet little man has been painting me lot's of beautiful pictures lately. I have stacks and stacks of paintings the kids have made me. So cute. :)

Okay...back to the laundry. :S
