Hummus Love

So, I'm kind of addicted to hummus. Maybe a little obsessed even. It's SO easy to make which is always a big thumbs up for me. :)

Here's my 'secret' recipe:

1 can of chickpeas or garbanzo beans
1/4 cup liquid from can of chickpeas
3-5 tablespoons lemon juice (depending on taste)
2 teaspoons of pureed garlic (mine comes in a little jar found in the produce section)
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil

Put everything into your blender or food processor and mix for a minute or two until smooth. It's good if you leave it a little bit chunky too.

Grab some nacho chips, cut up your favourite veggies and then get dipping! It goes with almost everything! I love scooping up hummus with sweet sugar snap peas. :)


I've come to the conclusion that I feel so much better when I exclude all types of breads, pasta, dairy and meat from my diet. All of that stuff makes me feel bloated and sluggish. Who wants to deal with that on a daily basis? Not I! :)  I feel best after I've been munching on fruits and veggies all day, chugging water and exercising. Ooh and SLEEP is very important. I need 8 hours at least.  :)


I've been feeling like a million dollars lately (well except for those few sketchy pms tainted days ;) I'm happier, healthier and content. When you nourish and love yourself - amazing things happen. :)

Hope everyone had a kickass weekend. I'm on my third latte of the day and the kids have been playing outside in more than 5 minute intervals. Life is good. :)
