Catie Graduates Kindergarten

Catie finished Kindergarten yesterday and there was a cute little ceremony for all the 'grads' in the afternoon. They had a photo presentation, song singing and cake and juice was served afterwards. It was her teacher's first year teaching and I would have to say she did an amazing job. :)

Here's Catie singing with her classmates. I have no recollection of what the song actually was - I was too busy snapping pictures and trying to keep Seamus entertained. He got bored pretty quickly and was busy crawling underneath all of the chairs. I just pretended I had no idea whose kid he was ;)

One by one, the kids stood up to get a diploma and a copy of the book 'Oh, the Places You'll Go!' by Dr. Suess. They even got to wear those cute little graduation caps - which they threw up in the air at the end of the ceremony.

After the presentation, everybody wandered back to the classroom and we had cake and juice. It was cute watching Catie interact with her classmates. She started the year out as a shy and quiet little girl, but quickly became very comfortable and outgoing. In this picture it looks like she's conducting a very important meeting. I just noticed she's entirely surrounded by boys. Interesting, but not surprising :)

Seamus ditched his cake almost immediately when he spotted all the cool toys in the classroom. He was quite smitten with this plastic power drill. It made really cool noises. And yes, this kid needs another haircut soon. :)

I'm mentally preparing myself for two months with three kids home ALL day. It will be a bit of an adjustment I'm sure. We have lot's of fun things planned for the summer and I'm sure it will be a blast though. I'm actually looking forward to ditching our schedule and just doing whatever the heck we want. Bring it on!
