August Break 2011 - Day 29

The kids and I headed out to Arlington beach yesterday afternoon. The weather was hot and I was feeling like we should definitely be taking advantage of the last few days of summer vacation. The kids are back to school on Wednesday! Only 2 more sleeps...
The girls had fun swinging in the shade for awhile. We had the entire beach to ourselves which was awesome. No fat hairy guys in speedos to deal with :)
Catie ran squealing out of the water when Chloe insisted a crab bit her on the toe. The expression on her face is priceless :)
Seamus waded into the green, slimy water and climbed the giant slide. The murky water didn't seem to bother the kids at all. It was too hot out to be picky I guess :)

I sat and soaked up the sun and took pictures while Seamus buried my feet in the sand.

The kids decided it would be fun to bury each other. Catie also buried Seamus' shirt and we had to hunt for that afterwards.

Catie exclaimed on the way home 'I think I brought the whole beach home in my buttcrack!' Judging from the amount of sand I found in the bathtub later on, I think she was probably right :)

A lovely day was had by all.

I'm feeling a little bit melancholy about summer coming to an end, but I'm also excited about the prospect of having a little more time to myself once the girls are back in school. Lot's of changes coming :)

  1. What a great way to wrap summer up, though! My son wanted to head to a leisure centre to go water sliding, and when we finally got there, it was closed for renos. *sigh* I'd rather have had your day. Buttcrack sand and all. ;)
