Centennial Celebration

It's been such a wonderful summer so far. Our little town had its Centennial celebration this past weekend and there were lot's of festivities going on around here.

On Saturday morning, the kids, my friend Cristina and I headed over to the town hall and set up a table selling Girl Guide cookies along with my jewelry. All of the local businesses were there selling their wares too.

The kids did amazing! We had them walking around the hall carrying boxes of their cookies and people just couldn't resist their cuteness :) I was pretty happy with my sales too. I met a lot of interesting people, including previous residents who'd flown in from the U.S. to celebrate.

There was a little parade that afternoon and the kids collected lots of candy from the passing floats - which were mostly trucks and tractors :)

Seamus was completely in awe the entire time with all of this candy literally being thrown at him. He couldn't believe his luck ;)

The kids hanging out after the parade was over. They got quite a bit of candy - enough to keep them flying around the ceilings for the rest of the day anyway.

The town firetruck drove by with sirens blaring. Seamus covered his ears with candy-filled hands.

I took the kids on a little road trip this past Sunday. The house was hot and humid so it was a perfect time to go for a drive in the air conditioned car, grab some ice cream for the kids and take a few pictures.

I think we're just going to hang in and around the house today. The laundry is starting to take over again (when is it NOT?) and I have a long list of other things to do. Time for more coffee. :)
