Unravelling

I woke up to the sound of my little guy puking this morning. Lovely, right? :/ I'm very thankful that he at least slept in until 9am and actually made it to the bathroom. Cleanup is less painful that way. I've been known to throw bed sheets directly into the garbage rather than have to deal with trying to launder them. Seriously, one of the worst parts about parenting is puking kids.

Into the tub he went.
Surely this HAS to be the last flu of the winter. Right? Right?!

All is peaceful and calm now. The puker is resting comfortably and the girls are busy crafting and playing on the computer. I'm sipping my chai tea with honey and enjoying the calmness. It's a gorgeous, sunny day and no amounting of puking can dampen my mood - as long as they get it in the bucket and not on the rug anyway :)

Today is the beginning of a fresh, exciting new year! I look back on 2011 with fondness and gratefulness. SO many amazing things happened that really pushed me to grow and see things in a whole new light.

To continue on this journey, I signed up for Susannah Conway's Unravelling e-course a month ago - it was an early Christmas present to myself :)  This 8 week course is all about taking the time to appreciate the beauty around you and getting in touch with how you see the world and yourself. It's about greater self awareness and telling your story. There are weekly photo assignments, writing exercises, a Flickr group and discussion board.  Just my cup of tea :)

This course is the perfect excuse to take some time for myself. 'Nurturing and nourishing soul time' is how Susannah describes it. I think everybody could use a little of that :) However, Unravelling will be a pretty intense, personal journey so I won't be sharing much about it on my blog. It's a secret :) This, just like my nightly candlelit bubble baths, is something just for me.

Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to my mom! ♥

  1. Good for you!!! I would love to hear your thoughts on the course when you're done though. I've been thinking about taking it, but am still at the "Holy crap, do we ever need to purge and clean this house" phase of life, and not at all feeling like I can take that kind of "me" time. Have fun with it!!! And Have a great 2012, lady! =) K
