Mama's Day Weekend

Mother's Day weekend was wonderful. I got lot's of hugs and kisses from the kids as well as beautiful handmade cards, potted plants, handprints in plaster and butterflies made out of tissue paper. I'm a very lucky mama to have such sweet children :)
While the garden was being tilled, we found 3 little salamanders hiding out in the cool dirt. They kept the kids busy for HOURS. Especially Seamus. He named them all and kept putting them on his shoulder, like a parrot.
I think they're adorable. They're like the limousine version of a frog :)
I think this little guy is smiling at me. Or maybe he's just pleading with me to rescue him from the hands of a rambunctious 5 year old. The salamanders were returned unscathed to the garden at the end of the day :)
These little pink buds will be blossoming any day now...
Our very serious cat, Ninja. He was clearly lost deep in thought as I snapped this picture. Shortly afterwards he attacked my ankle and then ran off after a fat robin.
I watched this fat little bee disappear into a hole on the floor of the veranda as I sipped my coffee. There must be a secret bee city down there somewhere. Or maybe the bee was just really confused. Hard to say :)
Seamus and I sat and had our morning coffee/juice boxes at the new table and chair set that I got for my birthday. (Thanks mom and dad! :)
It's quickly becoming my ritual to stumble out there with my cup of coffee every morning to breathe in the fresh air and listen to the birds chirping. I can't think of anything more wonderful than that. (Donuts might make it a little bit better. Yeah, definitely donuts. The glazed kind....or the ones covered with chocolate and filled with whipped cream :)
