A Daydreamy Summer

This was my view while I sipped my morning coffee on Friday. The sky was perfectly blue - not a cloud in sight. I just sat there and watched the thoughts float through my head.
This is my new garden. It's like a little slice of heaven. Mom came over and helped me finish planting everything, while my brother mowed the lawn and pruned trees. I'm so glad she was there because I was feeling a little lost and overwhelmed about where to put everything.
We put in 4 different kinds of tomatoes, some jalapeno peppers, onions, broccoli, peas, leeks, green onions and corn. We'd planted carrots, lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, radishes and beets over a week ago and they're starting to sprout already. It's exciting! :)
There are blooming lilacs everywhere and they smell SO good.
I love how the entire backyard is surrounded by giant trees. It makes me feel like I'm tucked away in my own secret little forest.
Here's Seamus testing out the sprinkler and probably pondering how he could eventually use it to soak his sisters.
The kids have an ongoing battle with the garden hose. I sat under the tree pictured above and watched with amusement as Catie hosed Chloe and Seamus down. She was getting them back for all the times they hosed
HER down :)
After about 10 minutes and a little bit of screaming, shouting and crying, they abandoned the hose and went back inside the house. All was quiet again for a little while so I turned my attention back to my coffee and the birds. Summer has been really wonderful so far - and it's only just begun :)
