Canada Day

We headed out to the lake last night to watch the Canada Day celebration fireworks. Dark clouds were rolling in on the drive out there. It started raining as soon as we arrived so we just hung out in the car for a little while until it cleared up a bit.
The kids played on the beach while I snapped pictures.
We wandered further down the beach towards this pretty rainbow.
Seamus and Chloe sat on the end of the dock looking out at the lake. Catie was busy looking for flat rocks to skip :)
It started to get darker out so we headed back towards the park where the fireworks were going to be set off.
Seamus stopped to examine rocks on the way. "Wait for me!" he'd yell, if we got too far away.

We found a good spot on the grass and waited patiently for the fireworks to begin.
We were treated to a pretty spectacular show.

We got home quite late and the kids fell into bed without any protesting at all. It was wonderful :)

The kids are already begging me to take them back to the lake today so they can swim. I'm trying to figure out where I'm going to find the energy for that. *eye twitch*  :)
