A Really Long and Snowy Weekend

We were hit with a wonderful snowstorm a few days ago. It started on Friday evening after the kids got home from school and carried on until Saturday. I loved waking up to a blanket of white fluffy snow. Everything was so calm and peaceful and I just felt so cozy looking out the window. Even better was the fact that I didn't have to leave the house for any reason. No white knuckle highway driving for this girl :)
The kids and the kitties went outside to play later that day. I (reluctantly) put on pants and followed them out with my camera.
It was a gorgeous sunny day. The fresh air perked me up and watching the kitties play for the first time in the snow was pretty cute.
Golden red leaves from a tiny tree seedling poked through the sparkly snow...
The kids have been busy eating icicles and joyfully throwing snow in each other's faces. I'm glad it's not the other way around....
I've been busy trying to keep all of their winter gear dry in between each outdoor excursion. Boots and mitts on the heat vents and coats and snow pants in the dryer. Nothing is worse than having to put on soggy mitts and wet boots to go outside. There have been lot's of requests for hot chocolate too of course :)
In between all of that, I've been making a few new things for my Etsy shop. I sat and strung beads one afternoon and ended up with a pile of  sparkly bracelets.
Creating is the perfect stress reliever for me. It makes me feel happy and productive. Wine is good for that too sometimes - as a Friday night treat. I small toast to making it through another week ;)
I've also been cranking out feather earrings like crazy and perfecting my wire wrapping skills. The girls are each sporting a pair. Catie has been wearing hers to bed every night and I'm really impressed with how well they've held up. She's my new official product tester :)
Chloe is modeling a pair of dainty feather earrings she picked out.
Today I pulled a huge load of towels out of the dryer, threw them on the couch
and then flopped down on top of them with my tea. Heavenly.
(The kids folded the towels for me later ;) I only had to ask once or twice and possibly use a little bit of bribery involving popcorn.
The kids have been home from school for the last 4 days and this mama is feeling a little eye twitchy.
At least there's never a lack of entertainment around here. Between the kids and the cats and a goofy mama, it's a regular three ring circus. And on that note, I'm going to go fall into bed where my flannel sheets and electric blanket are waiting for me.
