Valentine's Day

Two weeks ago I had my hands full with puking kids. Today, everyone is healthy and happy and we're back in the swing of things thankfully. Just in time for Winter Break - which means the kids are off school from the 16th to the 24th. Yay? :) Remind me to buy more wine....

Hopefully the weather will be warm and we can get outside to burn off some energy. There's enough snow out there to build amazing snow forts, tunnels and snowmen.

Just trying to keep the driveway cleared is enough to keep ME busy. Shoveling is awful. I try not to swear while I'm doing it, but sometimes I just can't help it :)
I'm trying to bring myself out of hibernation mode by making lot's of nourishing green juices. Kale, cucumber, apple, pear, carrot & ginger. The flavors remind me of summer and it makes me feel happy and full of clean energy.
I decided to try adding beets to my menu the other morning. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but it was yummy! I juiced one small beet, 2 apples, 1 pear, 1 mango, ginger and 3 large carrots. VERY good :)

Looks like this kitty could use a little bit of energy. All this guy does is eat, chase around shiny things and fall asleep in weird positions.
It's another cold and frosty morning out there. I grabbed my camera and snapped a few pictures while I was taking the garbage out. The fog was so thick I could barely make out the trees across the street.
I'm keeping cozy this morning with my giant cup of coffee and lots of layers. I'm so tempted to go crawl back into my cozy bed for awhile. The dishes and laundry and candy wrappers strewn around the house just seems like too much to handle right now. Can't the maid do it? :/

The kids were all a little tired and grumpy this morning and it was quite a challenge getting them all organized and out the door. Seamus ended up eating leftover pizza for breakfast and leaving the house with mismatched socks - which is more common than you'd think.

Maybe they had a little too much sugar yesterday. They got all sorts of goodies. I may have indulged a bit too. Those shiny red foil wrapped chocolate hearts are just too yummy to resist! And the Russel Stover strawberry cream hearts. Heavenly :)

My parents gave me these gorgeous flowers and I got beautiful cards and lots of hugs & kisses from the kids. I am one lucky mama.
