A Quiet Weekend

I love how wonderful it feels to roll out of bed, pour the biggest cup of coffee and then wander outside to wake up. The cool morning breeze combined with bird calls and the faint sound of cars whizzing down the highway is such a gentle way to start the day.
The kids spent the weekend at their dad's and I spent mine planting the garden and enjoying the fresh air and solitude. I napped, stayed up late and slept in as much as I could. Curious kitties followed me around the yard while I gardened.
My garden is now planted with tons of yummy veggies. Kale, spinach, sugar snap peas, tomatoes, radish, onions, beans, pumpkins, turnips, romaine lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, jalapenos, peppers, broccoli and potatoes.
Catie got in on the action when she got home and busily planted a variety of things too. It will be interesting to see what sprouts up in her mystery garden :)
Now that the garden is in, I'm going to focus on weeding and all of that other fun stuff.

My brother pressure washed the house and fence on Saturday in preparation for painting. The before and after pictures will be amazing :)
Hope everyone had a wonderful May long weekend! ♥
