A busy week!

The kids spent Father's Day weekend with their dad so I had the house all to myself. It poured rain the entire time, so no lounging around the garden or coffee sipping on the veranda for me. Instead, I found myself vacuuming and having elaborate conversations with the cats. I slept in, I painted my toes and I watched some trashy tv too. It was quite wonderful.

It's been a really crazy week. Here's what happened:

Chloe celebrated her 10th birthday - which also means that I've been a mother for TEN years!
She had a really fun family party and was spoiled rotten. There was cake, presents, kite flying and hula hooping.

Grandma bought the girls these cute little dresses for summer.
Seamus graduated from Kindergarten. His class performed a couple of songs, did a little dance and were handed a diploma and a copy of Dr. Suess'  'Oh the Places You'll Go!'
He's pretty excited that he doesn't have to go back to school until September and I'M pretty excited that I don't have to suffer through anymore mornings of trying to get him ready for school :)
I made some yummy kale chips this week and then ate them all myself. Only Catie was adventurous enough to try them and they made her gag, so I couldn't just let them go to waste :)
I picked some fresh baby kale from my garden and tossed it with a bit of olive oil, garlic, pepper and some parmesan cheese. I baked them on a parchment lined baking sheet at 350 degrees for about 15 -20 minutes.  They smelled so yummy and tasted even better :)
Catie and the kitty helped me pick the spinach and kale from the garden.

We wrapped up the week with my sister's birthday, my parent's 38th wedding anniversary AND Father's Day. Maybe next year we should just have one huge celebration in the middle of the month. I think that might be a good idea :)
