Waiting for Baby

This is my lovely sister. She's going to be having her first baby ANY day now. She's 10 days overdue already and I can hardly stand the suspense. She lives 8 hours from me and I'm trying to figure out how I can take frequent road trips to go and see her as much as possible without annoying the crap out of her :)

It's been 8 years since I've been around a newborn and I'm in serious need of holding one and smelling their head. (Why do their heads always smell so delicious??) Sometimes I ponder the idea of having another one myself, but then I remember how wonderful it is to sleep through the night! Babies are totally worth it ALL though. I remember getting excited when my babies would wake up in the middle of the night. They don't stay little for very long so I would try to savour every single moment.
Here she is back in the early 80's - still a baby herself.

I feel like we spent a large part of our childhood on swings like these. Dad used to take us to all the playgrounds around town and he would push me so high I'd get butterflies in my tummy and momentarily lose my breath. It was awesome.

Here we are hanging out in our matching bathing suits in my grandma's back yard. Cute as a button she is :)

Here's the baby's future room. It looks so light and cheerful doesn't it? Loving that orange rug too :)
My gut is telling me it's going to be a boy, but I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Hurry up sweet baby! We can't wait to meet you!
